Aberfeldy is situated amid some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery, Balnearn House can be found close to the "Birks o Aberfeldy" where there are wonderful walks through the Moness Glen. On the edge of the town, the River Tay flows under General Wade's bridge built in 1733. At one point in history it was the only bridge fording the River Tay which contributed to the town's importance.

Aberfeldy is an excellent area for a veriety of outdoor activities including touring the countryside, cycling, walking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, climbing, golfing, fishing or just taking time out to relax, which makes Balnearn House an ideal base. The picturesque town of Pitlochry with its popular Festival Theatre is only a 20 minute drive away. Blair Castle - which is well worth a visit - and the House of Bruar for the ultimate shopping experience are approximately 45 minutes drive away. For the whisky enthusiasts, the area is well endowed with distilleries, starting at our own Aberfeldy distillery.
